Project Title: The Tailored Shirt – Liberty London Cotton
Project Description:
The Tailored Shirt is a reimagining of British countryside style through the refined lens of Victorian tailoring. Drawing from the elegance of historical dress, the shirt takes cues from traditional collars, sleeves, and bodice construction—then pushes them into modern exaggeration. The elongated collar, voluminous puff sleeves, and extended bodice transform everyday tailoring into something both sculptural and wearable.
The fabric itself plays a central role in the piece’s identity. Made from 100% cotton Liberty London fabric, it carries a personal history—Liberty has been an enduring source of inspiration in my lifelong relationship with fashion. The soft evergreen tone of the print evokes the English landscape: forests, fields, and the quiet rhythm of the countryside. Its simplicity anchors the more dramatic silhouette, balancing nostalgia with contemporaneity.
Sustainability lies at the heart of this design. Working with natural fibers is not only a commitment to environmental responsibility but also a way of ensuring longevity and quality in my work. This shirt is versatile by design: it can stand alone as a statement piece or layer seamlessly with knitwear and other garments, offering multiple lives in a single wardrobe.
The Tailored Shirt is both personal and universal—an homage to heritage, a reflection of my design values, and an exploration of how history, nature, and sustainability can converge in contemporary fashion.
