Project Title: Knitted Hoods – Variations in Color and Craft
Project Description:
The Knitted Hood series is inspired by the practical elegance of Victorian headdresses and children’s winter wear, reimagined as a contemporary accessory that brings warmth, comfort, and color into the colder months. Each hood is designed to feel both nostalgic and expressive—protective like its historical reference point, yet modern in its playful use of color, texture, and fiber.
Every hood is one-of-a-kind. Some are created by knitting two strands of yarn together, producing variegated textures that add depth and individuality; others explore single-tone palettes in vibrant or muted shades. Sizes and shapes vary, but each piece shares the same purpose: a winter companion that is both functional and characterful, offering protection against the cold while allowing the wearer to express themselves.
Sustainability is at the heart of the collection. All hoods are knit using natural or reclaimed fibers, giving new life to found materials and promoting responsible making. In this way, the project embraces the principles of slow fashion—valuing resourcefulness, longevity, and individuality over mass production.
Together, the Knitted Hoods form a family of pieces that are united by intention yet distinct in personality. They celebrate heritage while championing sustainability, proving that even the simplest accessory can carry meaning, creativity, and individuality in every stitch.
